Another Recipe

I forgot to post this recipe with my meal Plan Post, and trust me, you want to make this yummy rice. This recipe comes to me from my sister, who I think got it from her Mother In-Law? Anyhow, we had it at Christmas and Mr.Pate and I loved the flavor! Hope you enjoy.

Yummy Long Grain Wild Rice
1 can sliced mushrooms
1 & 1/2 cans beef consomme
1 can (use the beef consomme one) water
1 box Uncle Bens Long Grain Wild Rice

1. Put all ingredients in the crock pot.
2. Cook 2-3 hrs on Med-High or 4 + hrs on Low.

  1. Sabrina, how do you do your meal planning? Do you use anything specific to help you? The family I nanny for is wanting to start meal planning so I thought I would ask.

  2. Well I just signed up for e-mealz.com, which is a site that will do it all for you for $5 a month. So they could check that out. I just signed up more for recipe ideas.

    My plan is pretty basic. I just typically look at whats on sale that week (meat wise) or what I already have and pick my recipes that work with that. Then i make a grocery list with the items I need, always checking to see if i already have enough on hand. It helps you not spend as much in the grocery bc you have a plan and stick to it, regardless of what looks good. So if I know I want a recipe that uses red potatoes, then I will plan two recipes with them in a two week period so I use the whole bag.

    They should also think about how long that meal takes to prepare and their schedule for that night. I know I have certain days where I need a crockpot meal bc I get home later. Hope that helps!
