A much overdue update

I have been meaning to blog all week! Goodness time gets away from you so easy, doesn't it?

- Mr.Pate has had some stomach bug for the last two days, ick. Poor thing! And two days with no daddy has felt like an eternity! Glad he is on the mend.
- My college besties came to BG yesterday for the first ever kid-get together-extravaganza. It.was.crazy. (Sidenote- I really wanted to put cray-cray right there, bc I keep seeing it everywhere and think its funny. But it didn't feel like me. Can I use cray-cray? anyhow...) We had 7 kids under the age of 5 there. I am very thankful that good ol Tommy J let us use the BCM because where in the world would all those kids go on my house? Haha! Seriously, I was so glad we did it!i feel like I never see my friends kids an I think it's sad. Wish I could see them grow up week to week. I really do. They are some fabulous kids.
- One of those 7 kiddos was Moses, you know the one we made a few ornaments a for? He is hilarious. Busy busy and full of life! Loved seeing his smiling face.
- My kid seriously loves to be chased. Luckily my friend Aprils children wanted to chase him all over the place. Woo hoo!
- I still have my Christmas stuff up. We always keep it up until the New Year. It makes me sad to take it down too quick! But I feel like this year everyone was in a hurry to get their stuff down. Sad times.
- I have been meaning to sit down and do a Christmas recap post... Coming soon. Hopefully before New Years right?! Haha!
- I am typing this post in bed, so pardon all the typos. I just didn't want to leave the poor blog neglected any longer.
- Well that about sums up what's on y brain.

As Griffin would say, "nigh nigh"!

Lights Under Louisville

We always spend before Christmas & Christmas Eve in Louisville with Mr. Pate's family. Last night we decided to head to Lights Under Louisville, which is a big lights show in the Megacaverns by the Zoo. We waited till Griffins bedtime and then loaded up in our van and headed out. Griffin fell asleep within three minutes if being on the road. There was definitely a long wait which we were not expecting, but it made for some funny memories. There were tons of lights and they had Christmas Music blasting down there! All in all it was pretty good and I think kids would love it! Merry Christmas!

Gingerbread Houses 2012

As I mentioned last year, a few friends and I decorate Gingerbread houses every year at Becky's. Griffin and I headed over this past Thursday for this years festivities. We had an awesome time! This year, Gary made us an absolutely delicious breakfast (seriously it was great, breakfast food is my all time fav)! I loved that new addition and think it will have to be added to the yearly tradition (please Garebear lol).

I just got Griffin and I a big Gingerbread man to decorate instead of a house, because I thought he would do better with that this year. He did pretty well actually! He didn't really want to play in the icing surprisingly (which I didn't mind!) but liked putting the toppings on (as well as in his belly!). Our set had peppermints included, so I opened a few on put them on. Griffin decided he should put some on it too, so he just added it plastic wrap and all. Haha!

Griffin sat and played with his play dough for quite a bit too, so I was able to socialize and watch the "pros" work on their houses. Jeanice and Cameron did great houses, but did not get nearly as serious and and hardcore as years passed. Haha!

This year, Becky and Gary gave us all matching aprons to wear during our event! How cute is that? I love them so much. Every year we also get a gingerbread ornament of some type, and this years had pictures of last years event in them. I can't believe how much Griffin has changed since last year. Crazy.

Gammy Becky also got Griffin a Big Red and a Big Apple ornament (she recently went to NYC). He has carried Big Red everywhere since!

Felt Christmas Tree

I finally got around to making Griffin a felt Christmas tree. I have had the stuff for like two weeks! Actually, I had all of the felt except the large green piece, so this project only cost us $2. I kept putting it off because I felt like it was going to take me forever to cut it all out, and I was worried it wouldn't stick so easily. I have no idea why I thought these things and they both ended up being false!

It took me about 15 minutes to cut everything out and get it up. Yep quick quick! Griffin was very excited while I was working on it, and could barely wait for me to get the next ornament cut for him to take to the tree! But once we got the whole thing up, he has just not been interested! Ha! He likes to go over and take all of them off, but he isn't really interested in putting them back. Maybe it will grow on him? It cracks me up how much he loved it as I made it though. Kids!

I would still say try it. It was cheap, quick and he will prob love it tomorrow. I may even get hardcore and cut out lights to put on it like the one I saw on Pinterest... Maybe.

Caroling!

Tonight we went Christmas Caroling with our church! It has been years since I have really been caroling so I was excited. And Griffin has been "singing" in his carseat (mostly in his own language) all the stinkin time now, so I figured he would get a kick out of it.

There were not a ton of us, but we had a great time and really cheered up some of our shut ins. Yay for Christmasy things!! Haha!!

And by the way- I was told by one lady who we visited that I had an amazing voice!! That's right! :-)

Happy Judo Birthday!

Last weekend, we went to Mikayla's (sorry if I misspelled it!) birthday party. Her mom Rachel works with Mr.Pate at Starbucks. Anyhow, they own a Judo gym (or just mixed martial arts) and that's where the party was. Such a fun place for a party!!

Griffin had a blast! He loved watching all the older kids go crazy, and he loved having so much space to run around! There was so much to do in there. Thanks for the invite guys!
