Pa-sticks Beach Vacay Day Six

All good things must come to an end... Who came up with that line? So depressing!

We slept in on Friday morning, and everyone was really slow moving. Mr.Pate and Dustin had put together a treasure hunt for Griffin, so while we were hanging out the doorbell rang. Jacob came back and said someone had delivered a paper for Griffin- it said it was a Secret Treasure Map! It had a picture of the beach on it and we decided we should go down and try to find it...

Uncle D was downstairs so we had to stop and show him...

The map said the treasure was 10 steps from the beach hut...

Griffin just kept walking and dos not seem to think these sticks in the shape of an X were the X on the map (gotta work with what ya got?!), we be convinced him we thought it probably was! Haha

Treasure!

We went back to the patio to open it... There were big sea shells like Griffin had been looking for the whole time!

And you could hear the ocean in them!

There was a box filled with sand treasures...

Like Shark Teeth!

He put those shells there and said, look I'm a mermaid and started dancing! Haha oh my...

Jacob went out to try his board again, now that we had waxed the right side... Still not so successful ;-)

Then we worked on packing up. Blah. Packing sucks and is no fun to spend your time at the ocean packing and cleaning.

After that we realized we had not taken any group pictures except a lackluster one at mini golf! So it was selfie time on the balcony ;-)

Also to note, everytime we got in our elevator the boys (Jacob, Dustin, Jason, Griffin) would stand with their faces in the corners. Supposedly this was bc no one would ride the elevators with them at first? Anyhow, it really made it look like Jacob was peeing in the elevator everytime! Hahahahaha

We loaded up and headed out :-(

The drive back took us 9 & 1/2 hours and we had more stops, but the kids were not fussy and did great. Whew.

Our first family Vacay was such a success! I am so thankful to the Bosticks and Dustin for inviting us and helping with the kids. Feeling blessed beyond measure.

Pa-sticks Beach Vacay Day Five!

I will start today's post noting that twice now I have blogged incorrect information (that we have noticed at least, it could be more!)... Oops! Apparently I am not very good at preserving memories, even if it's from the same day! Haha! So correction: Dustin won Ticket to Ride yesterday and we did not have prawns the other night, they were crawfish! Too much Food Network! Haha.

On to Day Five of Vacay:
We stayed up really late last night because of golf, so we were slow moving this morning. Jacob let Griffin play some game on his phone and Griffin felt pretty cool :-) thankful for friends who love on my kids instead of seeing them as an inconvenience!

When we all got ready we went back to the golf course from last night to do course 1 (our price included both courses and the maze!) when we figured there would be no line. It sure was hot, but we had a blast... Even if the best player didn't win ;-)

After golf we drove the strip to let the kiddos nap and let us see the sites. Once they were rested up we headed to the beach again.

The water was super warm and the waves were great without being to strong. Grady still did not like the sand, so he stood on a boogie board to play ball with daddy! Haha.

While everyone else played in the water, Grady poured buckets of water on himself over and over while sitting in his trusty chair. Haha!

And our crew made a serious sand castle/city...

Then Griffin demolished it before we headed to the pool!

Grady loved the pool. He jumped to Uncle D, floated by himself in the middle of the pool and got thrown around.

We headed back upstairs and had dinner and played games for the night. So glad we are on vacation with game loving people! We played Ticket To Ride... And Dustin won again, while I had over 50 points less than everyone! Ahh! Still enjoyed it ;-)

I can't believe we have to go home tomorrow. Sad sad sad.

Zoo trip!

The Saturday before Vacation, the boys and I headed to the Louisville Zoo with Amber and Lilli. Griffin has been begging to go forever, and Grady has only been to the zoo once when he was 10 months old. It was time. We had an awesome time, despite the hot hot hot day and tons of walking& hills!

Pa-sticks Beach Vacay Day Four (DEAD)!

We will get to the random DEAD in the title in just a moment ;-)

Day Four was a beautiful day! The waves were still super strong but we got out there just a little to try it out. The guys were worn out just trying to stand in the strong waves!

Grady continued to not like the sand. He did get some on him without freaking out, so maybe progress?!

We didn't stay at the beach too long and decided to head to the pool.

I ended up burnt! Ugh! The back of my legs and back, in splotches and weird patterns. Oh well...

We did naps (pretty much everyone except Griffin napped a little! Haha) and then played around the condo before we cooked dinner.

After dinner we headed to Coconut Creek golf and maze. They have a giant maze where you have to get to 4 checkpoints and then get out of. It was hard but really fun!

Everytime that we would get to a dead end, Griffin would yell out "Dead" instead of dead end. It was funny! And then we started yelling "Marco" to find each other and Grady even joined in, over and over. Haha!

Yep all that white is some of the maze- it was big!

We did make it out though!! Woo hoo! Then we did one of there mini golf courses. It was fun and the boys did really good considering how hot it was and how late.

Griffin actually played really well!

My little monkeys!

We got the boys home and to sleep and then it was game time! Jenn & I played Dustin and Jacob in three rounds of sequence- and won 2 out of three! Go girls! Ha!

*Note from yesterday I forgot to write: I was picking what color to be in Ticket to Ride, and I chose yellow and said it was bc I am so cheerful and happy- to which Griffin immediately said "no you aren't!" Hahahaha!
