Happy Birthday Kadyn!

Yesterday we headed to Jackson's Orchard to celebrate Kadyn turning 3! Jackson's Orchard is a local place people love to visit in the Fall, and they have quite a bit to do. With her party, we got to play on the playground (complete with the cider slide, hay maze, and rolling tire things), go on a hayride to the corn maze where Kadyn and Griffin serenaded everyone with a loud rendition of Let it Go, jump in the bounce house, and make sand art. It was a lot! Griffin had a ball, and we were all worn out by the end.

Happy Birthday Kadyn! Thanks for including us!

Fall Fun: North Warren Fall Festival

Friday night was North Warren's Annual Fall Festival. Griffin and I were able to attend again, but unfortunately Mr.Pate had to work a Servpro event elsewhere. We definitely missed him, since he is the fun one after all :-)

A great thing about this year was that Eli & Ellie (and Morgan and Eric) were there! So the boys were thrilled to get to play together. We did get off to a rocky start, as Griffin went up to a pretty tall inflatable slide and proceeded to get scared and cry. Some older boy grabbed him and brought him down for me. So we were a bit skiddish for awhile... Oh three year olds!

But Uncle D got done at his game and he and Britt came and played with us, so things looked up. The boys were being silly before we knew it!

Slowly but surely making some progress

We are slowly but surely making some progress on Grady's nursery. Tonight we actually hung a few things on the walls! We even hung something in Griffins room too.

So there is a white giraffe decal on the right, but because of the lack of great light in there you can just barely see it. Weird. We still have cute little animals that are gonna go between the letters of his name. Banner made by the awesome Gammy Becky.

If you have been around the blog much, then most of our stuff looks familiar probably. Griffin really wanted Grady to have an animal nursery that was yellow just like his was.

And we were able to hang Griffins birth announcement too!

And we got to hang his life verse also.

One little step at a time, and soon these rooms will be done!

What's Next? Getting Started with this Church Plant thing...

Last Sunday was our last Sunday on staff at Smiths Grove Baptist. It was bittersweet and of course I cried. But now that we have no more responsibilities there, the reality has set in that we are planting a church. Which leads me to ask myself, "what next?"!!

We have been meeting with our core group for Redeemer for a few weeks, but that is all. We do not plan on meeting on Sundays for a church service for several more weeks. So now what?

We are taking this time to visit some local churches and just see what others are doing and why. We are getting supplies together for a "mobile" church (we will be meeting in a local school gym). We are looking at logos and trying to set certain policies. And we are praying. A bunch. That God would change hearts on Louisville Rd. That He would redeem souls from death to life. And that He would give us wisdom for this completely uncharted territory we are entering into.

This is what we are toiling for- that we may present all mature in Christ.

I'll keep you posted on how things are going. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers.

Dinosaur World!

So for Griffin and Eli's birthdays (which are only a few weeks apart), Morgan and I agreed an "experience" instead of more stuff would be ideal presents. We decided we would go on an adventure to Dinosaur World! Griffin and I had never been, so it sounded perfect. We finally got around to going today, and the boys had a ball! I think the Mommies enjoyed the afternoon together too :-)

Sprinkled with Love!

Last week, some of my lovely friends threw Grady a "Sprinkle". It was more than we needed but such a blessing! We felt very showered with love and support. Griffin called it "our baby shower" because we had just gone to Baby Eden's baby shower a few days before. He was very excited for it to be "our turn", so precious! He ended up with almost as many gifts as Grady! That kid is so well loved and spoiled by so many amazing people.

Here are some of the super cute decorations:

Gammy Becky made the banner, and it will go above Grady's crib and be embellished with all these cute animals they used as centerpieces :-)

They even had creamy jalapeno and chips from Chuy's for me! Yummo!

These two had a ball running around and acting silly. They even dressed alike (for 9/11) without trying! ha! There sweet friendship melts my heart.

Little Miss was not to be left out, she holds her own with those big boys! Such a doll!
Grady got lots of precious clothes and wonderful gifts. I forgot how small and precious newborn clothes are! So cute!!!
Haven got us this tiny shirt from Chuy's! Apparently its the first one they have sold to anyone other than staff... it figures we would be the first ones! Such a Chuy's obsessed family. Ha!
It was a wonderful night, and we feel so loved and lucky to have such amazingly supportive people in our lives. Thank you!

33 Weeks and Counting...

  • How far along: 33 Weeks

  • Total Weight Gained: 20 lbs

  • Sleep: I
wake up several times a night to pee. And laying down is extremely uncomfortable. But it could be worse.

  • Best Moment of the Week:  Grady's "Sprinkle" last week and getting to see him on an ultrasound this week! And also just how Griffin is constantly talking to Grady through my belly. Precious.

  • Movement: Yep. Anytime I sit or lay down he moves and moves. Must feel cramped.

  • Food Cravings: N/A

  • Food Aversions: N/A

  • Symptoms: Lots of pelvic pain, cant breathe, uncomfortable to sit on soft surfaces, cant bend over, etc etc...

  • What I miss: Energy, sleep and lack of pain.

  • What I'm looking forward to: Finishing up the nursery, and seeing Griffin be a big brother. He is gonna rock at it.

  • Other news: We got to see Grady in an ultrasound yesterday. Dr.Gass wanted to check in on how big he is now, since he measured big at the 20 week ultrasound. They are estimating he weighs 6.1lbs now, which is the 98th percentile. Please note that ultrasounds are notorious for being off by a few pounds. But I do feel like he is larger than Griffin so far. He was sleeping and wouldnt budge during the ultrasound, so we only got two pictures. The first shows his mouth and nostrils, and an arm covering his forehead. The second shows the hair on his head. Its a bunch. He looks like he has a toupee on!  Ha!  We decided to do a repeat c-section this go around. It was a tough call, but we feel best about this choice. Oh and I got my posh pusher (hospital gown) and grady and griffins matching shirts last week. So cute!!
