my favorite moments and things from march 2010: 

• Bed Time: No, not the actual time you go to bed (although I did sleep alot this month). Mr.Pate and I usually take a few minutes everyday to just lay down on our bed with Joey and play and cuddle with him. I love this time for us. Joey will inevitably step on us or sit on our heads, but then he cuddles in and we spend a few minutes petting him. Usually we catch up during this time too, but its just a sweet time for us. 
• The Run 4 Ruth Ann: We ran a 5k at the beginning of the month at North Warren Elementary. It was a fundraiser for Relay for Life, but it was in honor of Ruth Ann, who passed away in January. Ruth Ann was Dustin's Kindergarten assistant and the sweetest woman ever. She fought as hard battle with cancer for many years. Dustin, Mr.Pate and I ran the 5k and it was a neat experience for all of us. She was a dear lady who is really missed!
• A regular meal: Our friends Gary & Becky came over one night for dinner this month. It wasn't a fancy meal or a special occasion, just dinner with friends, but it was a fabulous night for me. I have already shared how this has just been a rough month for me, but this dinner was a great dose of love and fun for me. We just sat around our table and talked and talked, thats what I love about them- we could talk for ever! We mostly talked about food and ended up sounding like a bunch of addicts! Haha! But it was a great memory for me. 
• DNOW: We had a DNOW in March that was great. It was such a good time with our youth and we really needed that I think. Good good times. 
• Best Western: One Saturday night my parents and nieces came up and stayed in the Best Western here in BG. Why? To swim in the indoor pool of course! Ha! We actually all stayed there the night before my wedding, and my nieces have wanted to come back and stay soo bad every since. So this month my mom made that happen. It was fun swimming again- I always miss that when summer has been long gone. And it was just some great chill time with my family, which I never get.

my favorite moments and things from february 2010:

• Date Nights: We began setting aside an actual date night again this month and it has been fabulous. I have felt more connected, like more of a priority and more intimate because of this. Mr. Pate is just wonderful, you know?
• Lava cake: I am so head over heels in love with this dessert and the fact I can make this dessert. This is probably not a great thing for me, but I sure did enjoy them this month! 
• Playlist.com: I really just love this website. You can find most songs (brand new ones are usually not available, but give it a month or two and you can find them) on here. Basically, its like listening to commercial free radio that never plays a song you dislike! This is my bff at work, and it makes everything I do at my desk more enjoyable. 
• Girl Time: I had some great times of hanging out with some of my best friends this month, but one moment stands out from all the rest. Several of my college friends came to BG for a hangout day on Saturday this month, and then Mel, Duke and I went to see a movie and to eat at Moe's afterwards. That movie and dinner was one of my fav moments all month. It was just so relaxed, non-rushed and comfortable. They know me, and they love me- that is such a refreshing thing to be around. I mean- Mr.Pate knows me and loves me more than anyone on this earth, but there is something different about girlfriends you know? I needed that moment this month- 3 girls just doing life together. WELCOME TO MOE's! haha. 
• Mario Brothers: Mr.Pate and I downloaded 2 of the original mario brothers to our wii this month. Ha! It takes you back to the old days I tell you. Mr.Pate gets pretty frustrated with me because I am so bad, and apparently he thought that since I liked the game when I was young that meant I was good at the game, which has never been true. I have always sucked at it (I mean I have a hard time jumping) but I still enjoy it! 
• 5 O'Clock Club: This month I joined the 5 O'Clock Club and committed to getting up at 5 everyday to meet with Jesus. Though I didn't succeed everyday, it was a true blessing to have this time before the craziness of the day sets in. These quiet moments with my coffee mug  and the word in hand were priceless.

my favorite moments and things from january 2010:

• Grilled Cheese sandwiches: Mr.Pate randomly decided to make a grilled cheese one night at the beginning of the month and love it. It made me crave one. So we had a grown up grilled cheese night with turkey and swiss grilled cheeses. #1. They were delicious. #2. It just felt homy to and classic to be making good ol grilled cheeses.
• HGTV moments with my man: Holmes on Homes, House Hunters, My First Place, and Property Virgins. Most of the nights in January Mr.Pate and I spent some time watching an HGTV show together, which is totally my love language! Haha!
• Say Yes to the Dress: This show is my favorite. I heart it. Alot.
• Tags: I discovered that google reader allows you to tag blog posts so you can quickly reference back whenever you need. WHAT?? My little organization-loving heart overflowth! Now I will always know exactly where to go when I want to reread those helpful posts on parenting that I cant utilize know but hope to use one day, or those freezer cooking posts about big omac days I hope to attempt sometime soon. Pure genius people.
• Cuddling: Thanks to our new couch being big, Mr.Pate and I can actually lay on the couch and cuddle for the first time since we were engaged! Shear joy. Be still my heart.

these are a few of my favorite things from december... yes its january. but its my blog and i can be late if i want to.

• New fitness center in Preston: We finally opened the expansion and it is incredible! Every cardio machine has its own tv and makes working out bearable!
• Andrew Petterson "Behold the Lamb of God" cd: It literally uplifts my heart and focuses my mind on the big picture. God has a plan and has been working it out since the beginning of time.
• cable & internet: Love love love having cable and internet at the house...
• soy based candle from target (gingerbread cookies, hot coca and something else): It makes our office smell like cookies and Christmas, which makes me smile. One co-worker has gone home and eaten lots of cookies everyday because of it! Haha.
• jesse tree: Love this tradition, love the focus, love the look of it.
