33 Weeks and Counting...
- How far along: 33 Weeks
- Total Weight Gained: 20 lbs
- Sleep: I
wake up several times a night to pee. And laying down is extremely uncomfortable. But it could be worse. - Best Moment of the Week: Grady's "Sprinkle" last week and getting to see him on an ultrasound this week! And also just how Griffin is constantly talking to Grady through my belly. Precious.
- Movement: Yep. Anytime I sit or lay down he moves and moves. Must feel cramped.
- Food Cravings: N/A
- Food Aversions: N/A
- Symptoms: Lots of pelvic pain, cant breathe, uncomfortable to sit on soft surfaces, cant bend over, etc etc...
- What I miss: Energy, sleep and lack of pain.
- What I'm looking forward to: Finishing up the nursery, and seeing Griffin be a big brother. He is gonna rock at it.
- Other news: We got to see Grady in an ultrasound yesterday. Dr.Gass wanted to check in on how big he is now, since he measured big at the 20 week ultrasound. They are estimating he weighs 6.1lbs now, which is the 98th percentile. Please note that ultrasounds are notorious for being off by a few pounds. But I do feel like he is larger than Griffin so far. He was sleeping and wouldnt budge during the ultrasound, so we only got two pictures. The first shows his mouth and nostrils, and an arm covering his forehead. The second shows the hair on his head. Its a bunch. He looks like he has a toupee on! Ha! We decided to do a repeat c-section this go around. It was a tough call, but we feel best about this choice. Oh and I got my posh pusher (hospital gown) and grady and griffins matching shirts last week. So cute!!

26 Weeks and Counting...
- How far along: 26 Weeks
- Total Weight Gained: 12 lbs so far
- Sleep: Blah!!! I am having the worst pains when I lay down. Mainly in my hip and pelvic area. "Rolling" over is very difficult and is when I have shooting pains in those areas. And I am getting up at least once and sometimes twice to pee. Blah.
- Best Moment of the Week(s): Getting moved into our new house and seeing all of our baby stuff coming out of the attic. And best moment of last week- passing my 3 hour glucose test (i failed the 1 hr!)!!!
- Movement: Oh yeah. He is an active little bugger for sure!
- Food Cravings: Nothing specific this week, just hungry!!!
- Food Aversions: Not really.
- Symptoms: Shortness of Breath, Have to pee constantly, cant bend over very well, pelvic pain, tired...
- What I miss: Being able to breathe when I talk and not having a huge watermelon on my front side :-)
- What I'm looking forward to: Fixing up the nursery, which might happen in a month or two...
- Other news: We finally got to move into our new house. I love it so much and will hopefully blog about it soon. VBS this week. One of the preschoolers is so memorized by the idea that I have a baby in my belly. I mean obsessed. Its hilarious.
- Gender & Name: It's a Boy! And we finally decided on a first name- Grady! No middle name is decided upon yet... maybe Emmett... maybe Allan (griffins is Alan and spelled like Mr.Pate and his fam's. Adding the L would make it spelled like my dad's... we cant decide if thats too confusing or not. But I would like to have the family significance for each side).... maybe who knows????

22 Weeks and Counting...
• How far along: 22 Weeks
• Total Weight Gained: 6 lbs
• Sleep: Thanks to some of my wonderful friends, I got two pregnancy wedges and that has helped quite a bit with comfort. Griffin has been waking in the middle of the night with all the housing changes, so I am pretty tired and wished I could get more sleep though!
• Best Moment of the Week(s): Griffin has been "interacting" with "his baby" this week. He has been poking the baby, hugging him, and tickling him. Seems to really be getting excited!
• Movement: Yep. Little taps and flips anytime I have to bend forward or scrunch the baby. And as soon as I lay down moving like crazy! Still can't feel it from the outside yet.
• Symptoms: Tired. Back pain. Heartburn. Shortness of breath.
• What I miss: The lack of back pain, and energy! Good nights sleep!
• What I'm looking forward to: Picking out a name, choosing nursery stuff, getting baby things together.
• Other news: We moved out of our house the past two weeks, which was super exhausting for a preggo. And we closed on the new house and should move in sometime in the next two or three weeks, so I am sure that will be exhausting too! Ha!
Some photo shoot outtakes for your enjoyment...
Griffin wanted to put his booty on the baby! Ha
And a fun belly shot with Hav, while we are both at 22 weeks!Friday, June 13, 2014
19 Weeks and Counting... It's a BOY!
- How far along: 19 Weeks
- Total Weight Gained:
- Sleep: Well, I traveled to Utah for Kristen's wedding and we probably slept a total of 10-15 hours over the course of 3 days. No good! I was one tired momma!! Griffin also had one of his bad weeks this week, so we had two very long nights of no sleep. But last night was better!!
- Best Moment of the Week(s): Found out the gender and got to see our little alien on the screen! Big Brother cried (more on that in a moment), so that made it a bit sad.
- Movement: I have felt a few small taps here and there, but nothing really major yet.
- Symptoms: TIRED! Very large midsection :-) Back pain, ugh!
- What I miss: The lack of back pain, and energy!
- What I'm looking forward to: Picking out a name, choosing nursery stuff, getting baby things together.
- Other news: The baby is apparently in the 86th percentile for size right now! Which for my small stature is really large. But that could even out of course. But I guess that expalins my huge baby bump already! Ha!

He actually acted happy about it being a boy in the ultrasound room, which we were surprised about. He has said he wanted a girl from day one. But as soon as we got out into the lobby, he crawled under a chair and started bawling bc he wanted a girl! It was so sweet and very sad actually. It made me cry! We were going to try some cute gender revel thing with balloons, but with him so sad we just decided to revel by sending out his sad video.

- How far along: 17 Weeks
- Total Weight Gained: 3 lbs
- Sleep: I need some! Griffin has decided to wake several times over the last two nights.... yawn!
- Best Moment of the Week(s): I was telling Griffin that we were going to go see a friends new baby, and he got upset and yelled "no, I want to see our baby!" haha! Sorry buddy- we got a long way to go.
- Movement: Nope. I am not the most observant though. Last time around I would notice when I laid down, but now I am asleep as soon as a lay down so who knows?
- Food Cravings: Salmon this week. I have wanted it a bunch lately. But thats not really out of the ordinary.
- Food Aversions: None this week.
- Morning Sickness: Still gagging when I sneeze or cough (more so in the mornings). Gross.
- Symptoms:Very tried. Back pain. Shortness of breath.
- What I miss: ENERGY!!
- What I'm looking forward to: June 10th when we find out the gender! Picking out a name.
- Other news: Griffin will now tell you that the baby is not coming until November.... so if you say the baby is in my belly he will say "no, not until November!" Ha! Such a hard concept to get. We found out Haven and Bro are having a girl this week, which made Griffin super happy. He still really wants us to have a girl too... so we shall see.
- Names: We havent done a ton of talking about names this time around. I have thrown out lots of ideas and Mr.Pate has disliked almost all of them. Ha! I would just rather wait until we know the gender and then start brainstorming this time.

If it keeps up, I may not be able to walk by the end of this! haha!

Finding Out this time around

I found out late February that we were expecting. It was actually very funny because one of my best friends found out she was pregnant on a Monday, and as she was texting me I was thinking "you know I might just be too!" Ha! I didn't decide to take a test until Thursday though. And I didn't mention anything to Mr. Pate because I wanted to actually tell him in some fun way if I was preggo.
So that Thursday we had a county-wide worship service for the youth groups and Mr. Pate was speaking. So I picked up Griffin and waited at home for the babysitter (Momma Susan) while he went there early to setup. I took the test right before she got there, and thought I was gonna just blurt it out when I saw her! Ha! But I didn't and went on to the event.
It was hard waiting to tell Mr. Pate, but I definitely didn't want to tell him before he spoke! So I held it in. I ended up blurting it out to him later that night- and once again I couldn't wait long enough to do something fun! Ha!
