Christmas 2013: Lights Under Louisville

Last year, we went to see the Light Under Louisville in the MegaCaverns. We were very impressed, they were awesome! You can read all about that here.

Griffin has LOVED seeing Christmas lights so far, so we knew we had to make sure and get there while he was still awake. It took us forever to get from the exit to the parking lot to wait, and that was by far the worst part of the long wait. People were being complete jerks and cutting people off. Blah! But once we got to the parking lot it went pretty quickly, and at least we were warm and had a DVD player to keep us occupied. Ha!

The lights were great again this year, and Griffin almost jumped out of the van window he was sooo excited. He yelled with excitement the whole time. Seeing that kind of joy and amazement is so refreshing and special. I love being a parent.

Girl Getaway!

Last weekend, I got the chance to head to Gatlinberg with Jilli & Misty for a cheerleading competition. I used to go to most of her competitions before I had a kiddo of my own, so it was fun to get some time with just them again.

We stayed in one of the team members cabins and it was soooo nice!! The weather was rainy and not so pretty, but we still did a little walking around and shopping Saturday (with the tiny amount of free time we had).

The girls won their division, AND Grand Champs of all level 4 teams!!! They rocked it.

I can't believe she is a Freshmen in High school! Where has the time gone?!!

Lights Under Louisville

We always spend before Christmas & Christmas Eve in Louisville with Mr. Pate's family. Last night we decided to head to Lights Under Louisville, which is a big lights show in the Megacaverns by the Zoo. We waited till Griffins bedtime and then loaded up in our van and headed out. Griffin fell asleep within three minutes if being on the road. There was definitely a long wait which we were not expecting, but it made for some funny memories. There were tons of lights and they had Christmas Music blasting down there! All in all it was pretty good and I think kids would love it! Merry Christmas!
