WKU HillllllllllToppers!

Mr.Pate hosted a Continuing Education class for Insurance Agents today for Servpro. They decided to do it at WKU, and picked today because we had a televised home football game tonight. So after the class was over, we got to tailgate and go to the game as a family! (I also got off at 3:30pm because of the game- just one more reason why working at WKU is awesome!)

Griffin was in a people-watching daze most of the time. He was just taking all the commotion in. But he seemed to love it. He cheered for the Toppers and was just the cutest thing there!

Daddy, Griffin and I stalked Big Red around the stadium for a good 20-30 minutes trying to get close for a high five, but of course once we got close Griffin did NOT want to touch him. Oh kids!

Haven, Griffin and I also had a mini photo shoot in the stands, which was very entertaining!

It was a wonderful night- other than how they actually played football!

The sweetest things my ears have ever heard

Griffin has been praying for us, and it is by far the sweetest thing I have ever heard. Earlier this year, it started with him occasionally repeating our prayers when we pray before bed. Usually Mr. Pate and I switch up who prays. If we prayed slow enough, Griffin would repeat it. So cute.

After a month or so of that, he started saying "no I pray" at night and mealtimes. His prayers are the cutest things. He has such a soft voice anyways, so it's quiet and sweet. He prays things that he has always heard us pray, such as "we love you, thank you for today, thank you our friends, thank you my tummy quit hurting, I sleep my bed all night" etc. So precious!

I am praying our little guy always desires to talk to The Lord, and that it always stays such a natural thing for him. What a blessing!

EKU Trip 2013

(I wrote this post awhile ago now, but was waiting to add pictures from the real camera... But at this point it doesn't look like I'll make time for that before Christmas! Ha! So something's better than nothing, right?)

Last Fall we took a weekend and visited Uncle Shelly at EKU, and we had an absolute blast. So we couldn't wait to visit again this Fall!

So a few weekends ago, Mr.Pate, Uncle D, Griffin and I loaded up and headed to Richmond. We stayed at the Red Roof Inn again, and I tell you they have the best customer service ever. Highly recommend them if you are going to Richmond. Plus their EKU rate is so cheap!

It was fun to see how much older Griffin was this trip. He LOVED the elevator. Might have been his favorite part. Too cute. Friday night we just got dinner at Cracker Barrel and then hung out at the hotel.

Saturday morning we got up and headed to the airport with Sheldon. (For those who haven't read for long here, Sheldon is in school studying Aviation and works at the airport) This was the part of the trip we were all soo excited for! Mr.Pate and Uncle D were gonna fly with Sheldon!

So we played around the airport a little, griffin got to get in a plane and play some, then the guys took off! Poor Griffin cried like crazy for a few minutes bc he couldn't go up too, but he rebounded quickly. They got to fly over Richmond and see campus, our hotel, Sheldon's house etc. they even did a few tricks ;-)

Then we headed to the park to play for awhile. Griffin even sang an assortment of songs for his swing buddy (a mix of God's Not Dead and "windows down cruz" to show we like to keep people guessing). Then we ate some super yummy food at Madison Square and discovered that Griffin Pate liked wings. Then griffin and I napped in the car while the boys played some disc golf. After that we headed to the hotel and swam. Their pool was as warm as bath water! Griffin did really well in the pool, and loved being with the boys playing ball and racing. Then we grabbed some Mexican and did a bit of shopping at TJ Maxx.

Sunday we walked around campus some, then went to church with Uncle Shelly. Griffin sang during worship and it was the most precious thing I have ever heard. Then we headed home.

It was a fabulous weekend and was a great mini getaway for us. I love our family!

Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving!

Well, as of September, our entire group of girls are 30! And as awesome as ever, ha! We met up last night in Bowling Green for some catch up time. Love them. We are so loud and silly when together, but it's a blast. We went to Chuy's and ate, then stood outside and chatted for forever. One couple parked next to us and we had to move for them to pass us on their way in... Then we had to move for them to get back to their car after their meal... Yeah, we stood there for quite awhile cracking ourselves up.

I love these girls and their hearts. They always refresh me and challenge me to love The Lord and love my family to the best of my ability, and not worry about comparing myself to others. Great reminders.

Oh, and they make me laugh a ton! Haha! #hashtag #GAs #noroominthein
